Brush Chipping Service for Storm Clean-Up Begins Sept 21st

Ypsilanti Township has contracted with a chipping service to handle the severe storm brush pick-up. As they begin clearing the brush, there are some guidelines that must be followed to ensure that this will move as quickly as possible.

The guidelines are as follows:
  • All brush must be placed curbside by Sunday, September 20th
  • Place cut ends facing the road; please do not to block sidewalks or bike paths
  • Do not block brush pile
  • No limbs larger than 12 inches in diameter will be picked up
  • Brush Chipping Service will start on Monday, September 21st
  • Once a street has been cleared, it is complete. The chipper truck will not return once the street is finished and will move on the next street. After that, it will be the homeowner's responsibility to remove and bundle Yard Waste for Waste Management to pick up or be dropped off at the Compost Site (2600 E. Clark Rd.)
  • Limbs between 12 - 24 inches in diameter can be dropped off at the Compost Site for a fee. Limbs larger than 24 inches will not be accepted at the Compost Site as our machine cannot process this large of material.
