Food Truck Permit Process
Ypsilanti Township is proud to welcome Mobile food vendors to our community.
To operate as a mobile food vendor in Ypsilanti Township, you must first have a current license from the Washtenaw County health Department (WCHD) through their Special Transitory Food Unit (STFU) Program.
Once you have your county license, follow the steps below:
- Fill out the Mobile Food Vendor Information Form.
- Submit the completed form to [email protected].
- The Ypsilanti Township Zoning department will submit your completed form to the Fire Marshals division for review.
- The Fire Marshals division will review the form and conduct a Fire/Safety Inspection if needed.
- The Zoning Department, with the approval of WCHD, and the Fire Marshals division will issue the permit.
The permit will be valid for the remainder of the calendar year, expiring on December 31st and must be displayed in a location that is visible from the outside.
