Sports Leagues & Lessons
Ypsilanti Township offers multiple sports leagues for youth and adults, as well as youth and adult instructional sports lessons. These sports leagues include Youth Soccer in the spring and fall, Youth Baseball in the summer and Youth Basketball in the fall and winter. Our adult leagues include Soccer in the spring and fall and Softball in the spring, summer and fall. All of our leagues for youth and adults are coed.
Program Search & Registration
Youth Sports Leagues
- Youth Soccer Leagues (3-year-old, 5 & under, 7 & under, 9 & under, and 12 & under)
- Ages 3-7 will use a size 3 ball and the 8-12 age groups will use a size 4 ball.
- Teams in the 7 & under - 12 & under will have 1 practice during the week and a game on Saturday.
- The 3-year-old and 5 & under ages will meet on Saturdays for 30 minutes of practice and 30 minutes of game time.
- All leagues run for 6 weeks.
- Youth Baseball Leagues (3 age groups; T-ball, Coach Pitch, and Kid Pitch)
- T-ball teams will meet on Tuesday and Thursday with one day consisting of practice and the other a game.
- Coach Pitch will meet on Monday and Wednesday with one day being practice and the other a game.
- Kid Pitch league will meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and will have 1 practice and 2 games per week.
- All leagues run for 6 weeks.
- Youth Basketball Leagues (3 age groups; Micro, 8–10-year-olds, and 11–13-year-olds)
- All of our basketball teams will meet once a week for practice and have a game on Saturday.
- All leagues run for 6 weeks.
Adult Sports Leagues
- Adult Soccer Leagues play games on Sunday afternoons. The home team is responsible for providing the game ball. Teams play 7 weeks of games, and a Champion is determined by the final record after all games are completed. Teams are coed and play 9 v 9, with at least 3 of those players being female. Leagues are scheduled to be played each spring and fall. All Participants must be at least 16 years old to play.
- Adult Softball Leagues play double header games on Monday Evenings. New this year we will have 2 seasons Spring or Fall. Teams play 9 weeks of double headers and then participate in a single elimination tournament to determine a Champion. All Participants must be at least 16 years old to play.
Sports Lessons
- Tennis Lessons are offered to both youth and adults. During the winter months lessons are held at the Community Center and during warmer months lessons are held at Ford Lake Park. Lessons meet once a week for five weeks.
- Beginning players learn the basics – forehand, backhand, volleying, and serve. Players will learn how to develop a comprehensive approach to acquiring basic techniques of hitting the ball.
- Intermediate players improve their knowledge of hitting forehand, backhand, and approach shots, volleys and serves. Players will learn to develop placement and power of hitting the ball.
- B-Ball Skills: B-Ball Skill LLC is a licensed, insured and experienced basketball training program that offers group training, private training and 1 on 1 training for ages 7 & up. Our trainers become certified basketball trainers through our own certification checklist. The creator of this program Coach Anthony Brooks has been coaching and training for over 10 years. He’s developed a deep love for basketball which started in his youth, grew through his playing years and now continues in this basketball training program. B - Ball Skills LLC. was created in 2015. Registration for this program is Membership base with multiple offerings. We offer 4-week, and 12-week memberships with options for once a week or twice a week for each length.
- Fun Time Sports: This is a new partnership for us. Fun Time sports will offer multiple sports classes with us this year including Soccer, Track, Flag Football, T-ball, Baseball, and Softball.
- Start Smart Baseball is a developmentally appropriate introductory baseball program for children 3-5 years old. The program prepares children for organized tee ball, baseball and softball in a fun, non-threatening environment. Start Smart Baseball prepares children and their parents for organized baseball and softball without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Age-appropriate equipment from Franklin Sports® is used in teaching throwing, catching, batting, running and agility.
