Zoning Board of Appeals Vacancy

The Charter Township of Ypsilanti has a vacancy for a member on the Zoning Board of Appeals.

The Zoning Board of Appeals meets on the first Wednesday of every month. The work sessions begin at 6:00pm, and the meetings begin at 6:30pm. The Zoning Board of Appeals has the authority to hear and determine appeals of administrative decisions and variance applications and make interpretations of Zoning Ordinance Provisions. 

To qualify for the Zoning Board of Appeals, candidates must be:
  • a registered voter
  • resided in the Charter Township of Ypsilanti for at least 30 days
  • be 18 years of age or older
  • a U.S. citizen
The appointee will receive a $75 stipend per meeting.

Those interested must send a letter of interest and resume to the Charter Township of Ypsilanti Clerk’s Office at clerk.info@ypsitownship.org, or deliver to the Clerk’s Office at the Civic Center (7200 S. Huron River Dr, Ypsilanti, MI 48197). Submissions will be accepted until 4:30pm on Monday, September 21, 2026.
Civic Center hours are Monday - Friday from 8:30am – 4:30pm.

The Board of Trustees will consider these appointments at the Tuesday, October 6, 2026 Meeting at 6:00pm.
