Brush Chipping Service for Storm Clean-Up Begins July 20th

July 30th Update: The chipper truck has had some delays. Following similar routes for recycling, PPM started with Friday B route today, July 30th. If you have not seen a chipper truck in your neighborhood by August 4th, please reach out to the Residential Services Department at [email protected]

PPM is continuing to progress through the chipping service, but they have not yet completed all neighborhoods. We ask that you continue to wait for them to come through your area; they will get to your neighborhood in time. We appreciate your patience as we continue the chipper service offered for storm clean-up assistance.

Ypsilanti Township has contracted with a chipping service to handle the severe storm brush pick-up. As they begin clearing the brush, there are some guidelines that must be followed to ensure that this will move as quickly as possible. We are doing our best to accommodate our residents' needs in the aftermath of recent severe storms. Your cooperation, patience, and understanding will be most appreciated during this brush collection event.
The guidelines are as follows:
  1. All brush must be placed curbside by Sunday, July 19th
  2. Brush must be placed cut ends facing the road; please do not to block sidewalks or bike paths.
  3. No limbs larger than 15 inches in diameter will be picked up by the chipper truck
  4. Brush Chipping Service will start on Monday, July 20th.
  5. Once a street has been cleared, it is complete. The chipper truck will not return once the street is finished and will move on the next street. After that, it will be the homeowner's responsibility to remove and bundle Yard Waste for Waste Management to pick up or be dropped off at the Compost Site (2600 E. Clark Rd.)
  6. Branches between 12 inches - 24 inches can be dropped off at the Compost Site for a fee. Limbs larger than 24 inches will not be accepted at the Compost Site as our machine cannot process this large of material.
