Board of Review Vacancy
The Board of Review is a three-member board that meets during the week of the second Monday in March, with a minimum of 12 total hours that week, including at least one 3‑hour evening session after 6 :00pm. July and December meetings also occur on specified Tuesdays per state annually determined schedule. The terms are 2 years beginning January 1st of odd‑numbered years.
The Board of Review is responsible for examining and approving the assessment roll, hearing property assessment protests, adjusting assessed and taxable values, and approving or denying personal-property exemptions.
To qualify for the Board of Review, candidates must be:
- a registered voter
- resided in the Charter Township of Ypsilanti for at least 30 days
- be 18 years of age or older
- a U.S. citizen
Those interested must send a letter of interest and resume to the Charter Township of Ypsilanti Clerk’s Office at [email protected], or deliver to the Clerk’s Office at the Civic Center (7200 S. Huron River Dr, Ypsilanti, MI 48197). Submissions will be accepted until 4:30pm on Monday, August 24, 2026.
Civic Center hours are Monday - Friday from 8:30am – 4:30pm.
The Board of Trustees will consider these appointments at the Tuesday, September 15, 2026 Meeting at 6:00pm.
