Contracted Chipper Truck
Ypsilanti Township has contracted with a chipping service to handle the sever storm brush pick up. As they begin clearing the brush, there are some guidelines that must be followed to ensure that this will move as quickly as possible.
The guidelines are as follows:
-
Chipper services will start on Monday, July 20.
-
ALL BRUSH must be placed by the curbside by Sunday, July 19
-
Brush must be placed cut ends facing the road, not to block sidewalks or bike paths.
-
No limbs larger than 15"diameter will be picked up. Branches between 15"-24" can be dropped off at the compost site at no charge to our residents. Limbs larger than 24 inches will not be accepted as our machine cannot process this large of material.
Once a street has been cleared, it is complete. The chipper truck will not return once the street is finished and will move on the next street. After that, it will be the homeowner's responsibility to remove and bundle yard waste for Waste Management to pick up or be dropped off at the compost site, located at 2600 E. Clark Rd. If you have questions. Please contact the Township at [email protected] or 734-544-4000 ext. 4 or go to the website for more information: ypsitownship.org.
We are doing our best to accommodate our residents' needs in the aftermath of these severe storms. Your cooperation, patience, and understanding will be most appreciated during this brush collection event.
