DTE Gas Main Relocation: Hydro Station/North & South Hydro Parks
DTE Gas is relocating the existing gas line on the bridge and dam (originally runs down Bridge Rd to Textile Rd) that spans the Huron River at the east end of Ford Lake. The gas line relocation is being done to improve safety and reliability to the gas line network and will be safer to do future maintenance and concrete work on the dam. This work has started and is planned to take 7 months to complete. Anticipated finish date is November 2026.

Project Description:- Install main from north of Ford Lake Hydro Dam to south of Ford Lake Hydro Dam through the North and South Hydro Parks.
- Cut, cap, and abandon gas main from Textile Rd to the south end of Ford Lake Hydro Dam bridge
- Cut, cap, and remove gas main from the west side of Ford Lake Hydro Dam bridge
- Cut, cap, and abandon gas main from near the North Hydro Park Driveway to the north end of Ford Lake Hydro Dam bridge
While South Hydro Park remains open for public use, a temporary “No Parking” sign, has been put up to prevent potential public vehicles from blocking access to the gas pipe and equipment currently staged in South Hydro Park.
