Volunteer with 'The Ypsilanti Township Litter Cleaners'
In 2019, Martina Stevenson noticed a lot of trash around Paint Creek Plaza and other roadways in Ypsilanti Township. Wanting to live in a clean community, Martina decided to do something about it by asking like-minded residents to meet with her at the Township parking lot. Two people showed up and that was the formation of 'The Ypsilanti Township Litter Cleaners' (YTLC).
A text with date, time, and chosen site is sent to her team and then they go to work picking up the trash. Currently, the five members of YTLC meet on Mondays.
Anyone interested in joining as a volunteer can email Martina at [email protected].
Volunteers need a bright safety vest (neon or orange), gloves, boots, a grabber with a long-sleeved shirt and long pants.

The YTLC is registered with the Washtenaw County Road Commission Adopt-A-Road Program who provide the trash bags and collect them afterward.
Let's keep our community clean!
