2026 Free Paper Shredding Events

Ypsilanti Township & Vital Records Control are hosting Free Paper Shredding Events at two locations in 2026.

Saturday, June 6, 2026
9:00am - 12:00pm (or until truck is full)
Civic Center Parking Lot
7200 S Huron River Dr

Saturday, October 3, 2026
9:00am - 12:00pm (or until truck is full)
Main Fire Station
222 S Ford Blvd

These events are held rain or shine.

• Shredding is an effective tool to manage important documents and to help prevent identity theft. 
• Driver’s license required as proof of Township residency.
• Limit three boxes or 100 pounds per household.
• Drive-thru event – Participants must remain in vehicle at all times.
• No need to remove binder clips, paper clips, rubber bands or staples.

These are very poplar events with our community.
