Advisory: Harmful Algal Bloom in Ford Lake

Washtenaw County Health Department is issuing a public health advisory for a harmful algal bloom (HAB) in Ford Lake in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Testing on Sep 10, 2024, confirmed the presence of microcystin toxin levels above the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) recommended recreational limit. Ford Lake has had periodic harmful algal blooms in the past. This advisory will remain in effect for any areas with visible blue-green water or water with green sheen.
